Uses Self-aligning thrust bearings are designed for perception and transmission of an axial stops of screw propellers and radial load of shaft line mass to a hull.
Technical Features Self-aligning thrust bearings are fabricated for shafts with diameters from 100 up to 600 mm, range of perceived loads from 140 up to 3200 kN. Lubrication of the bearings is individual (without joining up to oily system of a ship) by means of oils with kinematic viscosity at a temperature of 50° С in the range from 43 to 190 cSt. Bearings are cooled by outside water, pumped through built-in oil cooler installed in the bearings. The operation of bearing is quite allowable without water cooling when shaft rotational speed is up to 30% from assigned. Principal technical characteristics of the bearings are given in Table.
Description of Design The bearing consists of: a body, bearing race with balance system which are housed in the bearing and thrust pads intended for perception of axial stop; Bearing spheric shell percepting radial load from shaft line mass and its centering, providing selfadjustment of bearing in shaft misalignment. Oil cooler is housed in central space of a body between bearing races. Oil feeding rings, oil ring, oil header and oil-catch rings are housed in casings which are joined to the surface of a body and lined with oil. Oil feeding rings and oil-catch rings form a system of labyrinth seals and prevent oil leaks. The oil drip rings and oil wiper rings make up a system of labyrinth seals to prevent oil leaks out of the bearing.
Accessories Included Bearing is supplied with a spares and accessories kit (shells, thrust pads, thermometer) and operating documentation.
