The pontoons were designed to place APS «Kursk» into 80 000 tons floating dock.
Designing of marine pontoons «Gon» and «Mar» was carried out (in accordance with Russian Maitime Register of Shipping) by PKB «Sevmash» design bureau. The pontoon has in its structure one longitudinal and five transverse bulkheads (one of which is watertight). Provision is made for mooring gears, ballasting and ventilation systems.
