Yesterday Sevmash celebrated its 72nd anniversary of production activity.

The shipbuilders and the guests who gathered in the hall were greeted by acting Deputy Director General Mikhail Budnichenko. He summarized the past year: “We focused on production challenges that called for maximum efforts of all Sevmash employees.

- We are in for intensive work. We have to execute the governmental defense order for the year of 2012, deliver nuclear-powered submarines of a new generation to the Russian Navy, complete testing and deliver the aircraft carrier Vikramaditya to the Indian Navy, complete the delivery of the Prirazlomnaya platform to the client.” Mr. Budnichenko expressed gratitude to the shipbuilders for their hard work and said he was confident that the challenges would be met and Sevmash would keep developing its production potential and unique construction methods.

After that Mr. Budnichenko granted awards to the best Sevmash employees.

Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of Design Bureau Yuri Spiridonov was awarded the title of Honorary Mechanical Engineer. Six Sevmash employees were awarded the title of Honorary Shipbuilder for their substantial personal contribution into the development of Russian industry. Head of Bureau of Quality Control Department Alexandra Shmargun was awarded a badge “For Achievements in Standardization and Quality Control.” Eighteen shipbuilders were awarded a Certificate of Honour granted by the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade. A large group of Sevmash specialists received a commendation from the ministry. Three shipbuilders became holders of certificates and badges “Meritorious Worker of Sevmash”, among them is Director General of Sevmash in 2004-2007 Vladimir Pastukhov.

The guests – Principal Deputy Director General of JSC “SC “Zvezdochka” Eduard Baal, Director General of JSC “SPO “Arktika” Alexandr Telepnev, Warship Production Superintendent Mr. Srinivas - complimented Sevmash on the anniversary as well.
