Nuclear-powered missile carrier Alexander Nevsky has successfully completed another stage of sea trials in the White Sea.

During this “maritime exam” the ship systems were tested for proper operation in different modes. “The tasks were performed in full. The contractors, commissioning team and the crew of the ship deserve an excellent mark!” – said the submarine’s commissioning engineer Alexander Reznikov. During the trials period Sevmash commissioning team headed by Alexander Reznikov and the ship crew with commander 1st rank captain Vasily Tankovid in charge became a united team that aimed its well-coordinated efforts to timely achievement of all the assigned tasks. 
According to Head of Defense Equipment Production of Sevmash Marat Abidzhanov during the previous sea trials the missile carrier proved its high performance and easy manoeuvrability. Upon completion of the trials Alexander Nevsky will face a new stage, namely state trails.

Alexander Nevsky, project 955, is the first strategic missile carrier of Borej series. The hull is 170 m long and 13.5 m wide. Max. depth of submersion is 450 m, underwater speed is 29 knots. The lead ship of the series was Yuri Dolgoruky. Following Alexander Nevsky, Vladimir Monomakh and Prince Vladimir were keel-laid.
A series of submarine cruisers of the 4th generation carrying ballistic missiles of Bulava complex is designed to become a basis of Russian maritime strategic nuclear forces for the next decades.
